Bez njihove vječne obnove života, rasta, snage, pouzdanosti, šuštanja, zelenila, mirisa i hlada. Drveće, hvala Vam!

CITATI O DANU DRVEĆA:
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are written by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
~Joyce Kilmer, “Trees,” 1914
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money. – Poslovica Cree Indijanaca
If you would know strength and patience, welcome the company of trees. ~Hal Borland
The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit. ~Nelson Henderson
Trees are the earth’s endless effort to speak to the listening heaven. ~Rabindranath Tagore, Fireflies, 1928
Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky, We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness. ~Kahlil Gibran
For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver. ~Martin Luther
God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools. ~John Muir
I frequently tramped eight or ten miles through the deepest snow to keep an appointment with a beech-tree, or a yellow birch, or an old acquaintance among the pines. ~Henry David Thoreau
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now. ~Kineska poslovica
VIDEO: John Denver : BOY FROM THE COUNTRY
LYRICS:
Because he called the forest “Brother,” because he called the Earth his mother,
they drove him out into the rain.
Some people even said that the boy from the country was insane.
Because he spoke to the fish in the creek. He tried to tell us that the animals could speak.
Who knows? Perhaps they do.
How do you know they don’t just because they’ve never spoken to you?
Boy from the country left his home when he was young, boy from the country, he loves the Sun.
He tried to tell us that we should love the land.
We just turned our heads and laughed. You see we did not understand.
Sometimes I think the boy from the country is the only one who sees,
’cause the boy from the country doesn’t want to see the forest for the trees.
Boy from the country left his home when he was young, boy from the country, he loves the Sun.
Yes, he does, yes, he does!
